Abatement means the ending, reduction, or lessening of something. With that definition, Mold Abatement means the ending of mold or removing mold from your home or business. Remediation means the action of remedying something, in particular of reversing or stopping environmental damage. When we use the terms mold abatement, mold removal or mold remediation, we use those terms interchangeably. We are removing the mold which is remediating the mold situation which is ending it, abatement.
At CCS Property Services, mold abatement means the ending and cleanup of mold in your home or business. In the scenario below we responded to a request to have mold removed from an attic. In this job, the humidity level in the attic was at a very high level. The high level of humidity was why the mold formed. The roof was replaced to address the cause of the humidity. However, the residual mold was left on the wood in the attic. We were able to come in and remediate the mold situation by applying an anti-microbial application.
The project took us about 8 hours to complete. Besides applying the anti-microbial solution, we also had to bring in a HEPA filter to contain the area and prevent any mold spores from being disturbed. 
Every mold removal job is different but there are a few things that always stay the same…our customer service and commitment to complete the job in a timely manner with as few interruptions to you, your family and your business. The first priority after making sure you and your family are safe is to find the cause of the mold. Mold always comes from high humidity levels (a water leak, construction issues, leaking roof, cracked pipes, etc.). With proper humidity in a home or business, mold cannot grow. Once the source that is causing the mold is corrected, we are then able to treat the mold as you see in the photos below.
